Not much has stirred in the i815E department since our last motherboard price guide as you can see with i815E prices holding their ground except for a few motherboards dropping slightly in price. As with our previous guides we still recommend the ASUS CUSL2 simply because of it's rock solid stability and top notch performance.

The Transcend TS-ASL3 is a good buy if you're looking for a basic 815 motherboard and it has come down very nicely in price which makes it an even better buy for the budget minded since you get overclocking features, stability, and performance for $101.

i815EP motherboards have also remained steady except for the ASUS CUSL2-C which has dropped slightly in price making it an even better buy for those of you looking for solid performing, stable, and overclockable Socket 370 solution.

New for this week are some Pentium 4 motherboards which are based on the i850 chipset requiring RDRAM. While RDRAM is still dropping in price the combination of a P4, an i850 motherboard, and RDRAM can be quiet expensive for the budget-minded. In addition, the performance of the P4 does not compare significantly to other CPUs, namely the P3 and the AMD Athlon/Duron therefore it is possible to find a much better performing system for a fraction of the cost of a P4-based system.

If you are looking for a good Pentium 4 board however, the ASUS P4T has been running quite well in our labs for the past few weeks.
