This week we see two new high end processors - the Palomino MP 1.2Ghz and 1.0Ghz. These processors can be used in new AMD 760MP motherboards. Their introductory prices are rather high compared to the rest of the Athlon processors. Expect prices to fall once the Athlon 4 is released later this summer. For more information about the Palomino, read our latest review.

Prices of Athlon-C line of processors continued to fall in price this week, however, not s significantly as in the last guide. The 1.4GHz part fell $14 this week, putting it at $170. The 1.2GHz part fell to $102 this week, making it a great value for DDR customers. The 1.0GHz part dropped $12, putting it at a low $91. We should note that the new Athlon-C processors require a motherboard capable or handling the 266MHz FSB. Check out the Memory and Motherboard Price Guide for more information and read our latest comparison to find out what chipset you'll want to pair up with your new CPU.

A 1.4GHz processors joins the Athlon-B lineup this week. It's debut price is a relatively high $188. Have no doubt that this figure will fall significantly by the next Price Guide. As with their Athlon-C cousins, the 200MHz parts saw moderate price drops this week. The 1.3GHz part fell $15, putting it at $132. The 1.2GHz part saw a $14 price drop. The 1.0GHz Thunderbird can now be found for $88; only $5 more than a 950MHz Duron. This is definitely a great buy.

Last weeks new Duron 950 saw a $10 price reduction this week. The rest of the Duron line saw minor price drops this week. The 900MHz part fell $4, putting it at $63. The 700MHz part takes the crown of being the cheapest Duron at only $25.
