The reader should note that 3dfx's acquisition by NVIDIA will result in them not being able to provide support for their cards, so purchase a Voodoo3/4/5 card at your own risk. This week we see some price fluctuations from the 3dfx segment. The still-popular Voodoo5 5500 has risen in price to $119 this week. The PCI version remains at it's high price of $194. The Voodoo3 3500 remains a good deal at $64 for those looking for basic 3D acceleration and TV tuner capabilities on their PC.

ATI's lineup of cards showed a upward trend in price this week. The Radeon SDR rose $22, putting it at $95. The Radeon All-In-Wonder also rose $17 this week. The Radeon 32MB LE, however, fell $2 this week. Please read our recent review of the LE for information on how to unlock it's hidden potential.

In the NVIDIA segment we see some welcome price drops in the high end video cards. The GeForce 3 saw a $17 price drop this week, putting it at $325. The GeForce2 ULTRA also saw a light price drop this week. This high performance card dropped $4. The GeForce2 Pro remains an excellent value at $142. This card uses faster 5ns DDR memory which alleviates some of the memory bottlenecks found in the 6ns GTS cards.

The KYRO II showed very little price change this week. This card offers performance similar to the GeForce2 GTS but at a cheaper price. The KYRO II is a unique card because it uses a tile based rendering engine. Check out our KYRO II review for more info.

The Matrox line of cards saw minimal changes in price this week. Those looking for excellent dual display capability may wish to purchase the Matrox G450 card as it has proven itself well in this category. For more information check out our Dual Display Comparison.
